Over his years in financial services – as a personal banker, as an insurance agent, and at last as an investment advisor, Tom Pappenfus has learned to value consistent communication with clients.
“I really care about what’s going on in their lives,” Tom says. “Communication helps me understand how to tailor their portfolio to their goals and fears so they can be confident in understanding how different market environments may affect them.”
Communication also helps Tom manage clients’ expectations so they can rally their confidence when markets get bumpy. Tailoring a portfolio of balanced investments and staying committed to the plan in volatile moments are key to successful long-term investing, Tom says.
“It’s never a completely smooth ride, but with the right mindset, our clients can trust us to handle this part of their lives while they enjoy the other parts of their lives,” Tom says.
Tom attained a master’s degree in finance from Marquette University and bachelor’s in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
He and his wife, Allicia, live in New Berlin with their two sons, their daughter and the family dog. Tom enjoys exercising and typical Wisconsin outdoor activities, including fishing, golf and playing sports with his children. Among his community contributions, Tom regularly donates blood and assists coaching youth baseball and soccer.
